Conflict Resolution & Stabilization | Israel | Lebanon | Palestine
Powerpoint Presentation | December 8, 2010 | 18 pages
In new polls conducted by Charney Research, results indicate that Israeli and Palestinian publics both support the notion of a Palestinian state alongside Israel in principle. However, their views differ sharply on the Arab Peace Initiative, the Arab League-endorsed peace plan: Palestinians back it, Israelis do not. Both Israelis and Palestinians favor a phased two-state solution. Polls also reveal that Israelis are fearful and ignorant about Arab politics. Furthermore, surveys reveal that Palestinians—especially those on the West Bank—are much more hopeful than they were in 2009, thanks to a better economy and security.
